I used to love searching for hidden treasures on eBay. I would spend every night discovering slightly used designer suits to wear for my corporate job. I couldn’t pull myself away from the computer until my eyes involuntarily closed.
I used to travel to Asia each month and get stuck in Narita Airport in Japan for 4-5 hours at a time. The JAL lounge had PC’s set up with internet access. Ahhhh, JAL served delicious, but tiny, breakfast treats and drinks while I parked myself to surf eBay.
But sadly, eBay grew beyond treasure hunter shoppers around 2006-2007. eBay sells more commodity items now and is more of a “deal” shopping site.
Now I find items sorted on popularity on WatchedItem.com. I have to. eBay houses a lot of fixed priced items that have been listed for sale for years. It would take too long to sort by endtime and I don’t trust BestMatch.
A WatchedItem user searched for “ABC”. Hmmm, let’s see what that’s about.
This “ABC” search turns up a lot of fixed priced eBay items that contain the string “ABC”.
1. Do not buy this floor puzzle for your house! Kids never play with it and you end up throwing it away. But if you insist on buying it, yes, this is a good price.
2. Here’s a new trend in charms, the charm earring. Cute.
3. This is a nice quilting fabric. Quilting is still a good category on eBay, but Etsy.com is the new marketplace for handmade goods. Lots of beautiful things on Etsy.
4. Everyone with children or nieces and nephews has these magnetic letters. These are also good for the office watering hole.
So there still is a lot of fun stuff on eBay. Just start your search by the most popular items with WatchedItem.com!
